Welcome to the latest weekly update from the Manchester City Women Official Supporters’ Club.
After a lot of travelling recently and the big derby match at The Etihad Stadium, this week finally saw Manchester City Women return to our spiritual home at The Academy Stadium as we began our FA Women’s Continental League Cup defence against Leicester City Women.
It was good to be home and our fantastic start to the new season continued as we stormed to a 5-0 victory. It formed a real goal fest of a weekend for our members who also follow City’s men’s team, as on Saturday they defeated Watford 8-0, so 13 goals at home without reply certainly constituted to a ‘True Blue’ weekend.
One aspect that I would like to highlight is that here at the OSC, we fund our travel and events with producing and selling our own merchandise. We sell badges, scarves and much more including of course the exceptional FAWSL Full-Time magazine.
One item we are particularly proud of is our OSC Yearbook. This year’s is our second edition and has again been produced and compiled by renowned City author Andrew Waldon. The book is a review of last season for both the team and the OSC and a preview of this season. It has a specially created cover by City artist Lesley Ross and is available to order direct from us at games and events for just £10 plus any P&P if ordered online.
Hope you are all enjoying the start to the season as much as we are. I have written this column before the game against FF Lugano 1976 at home while we also have a trip to Everton to look forward to this week.
See you all next week.
