Manchester United are 3-1 up against Everton at the break at the Leigh Sports Village with a familiar face putting in a dazzling display.
Teenage midfielder Lauren James looks set to again grab the headlines with the player having already got her name on the scoresheet twice in the opening 45 minutes against The Blue Girls.
The visitors took the lead after just two minutes courtesy of a Mary Earps error but James and her side have fought back with three goals.
The midfielder swept home a Jess Sigsworth cross to level matters on four minutes before Katie Zelem’s penalty gave United the upper hand after James was fouled. England youth international James scored her second of the game with a clinical effort from the edge of the area on the stroke of half-time to give her side a comfortable advantage.
There may be more to come from the midfielder in the second half but United fans have already been raving about James’ performance on Twitter.
Masterclass by Lauren James first half. #MUWomen
Great run into the box to meet the cross for the first goal. Dribble into the box drew the foul for the pen, then great strike for the third 👏👏👏

keep saying Lauren James is quality, think Casey should have started her in the last game, if Rashford is the man at the mo, she is the woman #MUWFC

James’ two first half strikes now means that she is second in the roll of honour of FA Women’s Super League top scorers this season.
