Arsenal will arrive at The City Ground for this afternoon’s FA Women’s Continental League Cup final with Chelsea looking like they mean business with Joe Montemurro’s side wearing suits by 424, Arsenal’s Official Formal Wear Partner.

The partnership with the Los Angeles-based fashion brand marks the first time that Arsenal Women have ever had an Official Formal Wear Partner.

First team players Lia Walti, Jill Roord and Danielle Carter were chosen to model the suits ahead of this afternoon’s showpiece with the trio being involved in an official club photo shoot hosted in partnership with the 424 brand and digital marketing and commercial agency B-Engaged.

Walti, Roord and Carter were joined by a familiar face during the photo shoot with Arsenal midfielder Hector Bellerin attending the event to assist the girls. The 24-year-old Spaniard is no stranger to cup final appearances himself with two FA Cup winners’ medals to his name with The Gunners, however, Bellerin is multi-talented with the player boasting a keen eye for fashion and photography. Bellerin was on-hand throughout the day, working as a stylist and creative producer for the club event.

On the subject of wearing her 424 suit for the first time, Arsenal forward Carter said “The new 424 suits look great and we are proud to be part of the collaboration between 424 and the club.

“The cup final this weekend represents yet another big moment in the history of Arsenal Women and we hope we can do everyone proud by bringing the trophy home.”

Driven by 424 co-founder Guillermo Andrade’s friendship with Hector Bellerin, his life-long support of Arsenal and love of football, the partnership between Arsenal and 424 has seen the contemporary streetwear label enter the world of professional sport for the first time.

424 is widely recognised for their cutting-edge creations that are born out of a love of fashion, lifestyle and art. Their flagship boutique store in the heart of Los Angeles inspires designs that push originality over everything else.

Speaking about the blossoming partnership, Arsenal midfielder Hector Bellerin said “Arsenal has always been a club which pushes the boundaries and here is another example of that with the partnership between 424 and Arsenal Women.

“It was a pleasure to work on the shoot for the new suits and I’m proud to be part of a club which innovates and collaborates across all Arsenal teams.”

The women’s game is quickly becoming big business in England with the FA Women’s Super League having gone full-time in the last two years while the division attracted a record-breaking seven-figure sponsorship deal with Barclays in the summer.

With the FA Women’s Continental League Cup being the second-biggest domestic footballing showpiece, only behind the Women’s FA Cup, Arsenal’s partnership with 424 will certainly bring a professional feel to the occasion at The City Ground in Nottingham this afternoon.

Arsenal’s Commercial Director, Peter Silverstone is hoping that the 424 formal wear will help deliver The Gunners a sixth FA Women’s Continental League Cup final triumph:.

“We are very pleased to introduce an Official Formal Wear Partner for Arsenal Women for the first time in our history” said Silverstone.

“Arsenal Women are the most successful women’s team in English football and one of the most followed women’s sports teams globally on social media.

“It’s fitting that they will wear their new 424 suits ahead of a cup final, and we hope we can kick off this exciting and innovative collaboration with a cup victory.”
