WEEKLY UPDATE: Manchester City Women Official Supporters’ Club #54

Welcome to the latest update from us here at Manchester City Women Official Supporters’ Club.

Another week of lockdown, so let me start by saying that I hope you are all well and still coping with the difficult times that we find ourselves in.

This week has again seen our members continuing to interact with a number of online initiatives to keep connected. A number of our members joined in with FA Women’s Super League Full-Time’s first-ever online interactive quiz last Friday morning and all have said how much they enjoyed it, even if they didn’t do as well with the answers as they would have liked. Later on Friday, we saw more fans than ever before joining in with our weekly OSC Twitter quiz, which is something we have really enjoyed hosting every week throughout the lockdown.

Our Team MCWFC OSC participants in the ‘100k in May’ challenge for the Darby Rimmer Foundation have continued to rack up the miles, just as our donation page has racked up the pennies. Thank you for all the kind donations so far. If you would like to donate any amount to this wonderful cause please do. You can make a donation by clicking here.

A big event last week was the birthday of our secretary Jayne. Whilst we could not all get together and celebrate as we may usually have done, she received hundreds of well wishes on social media from both members and friends. She also received a message from Jill Scott and a video specially recorded from City’s singing sensations Esme Morgan and Lauren Hemp in which they belted out ‘Happy Birthday’. All of these wishes made Jayne’s day and she would like to pass on her sincere thanks to everyone who took the time to wish her a Happy Birthday.

We still await a decision on how football will return at the time of writing this update. One decision that we have made here at the OSC is that we will still conduct our Player of the Season award for 2019/2020 when we think it is possible. We will wait on an official decision before we do this and when it is made, if the season is to be completed, we will contact members about voting when it is the appropriate time.

In the meantime, I hope you all remain well in these trying times . If you need to contact us via social media you can do so at any time.

Stay safe and see you all again next week
