London Bees and Tottenham Hotspur’s pitch problems look to be over with a brand new pitch being installed at The Hive according to an update provided by Barnet FC.

Both clubs have suffered postponements this season with the playing surface at The Hive being heavily used, usually twice or three times a week.

With the Barclays FA Women’s Super League and FA Women’s Championship seemingly set to be ended next week, work has started on a brand new pitch being installed at The Hive for next season. The ground staff at The Hive have joined forces with the Head of Playing Surfaces and Estates at Tottenham Hotspur FC to carry out work on the new playing surface.

The work is progressing well in the current good weather conditions and the pitch will be ready well-ahead of the return of football, whenever that may be.

London Bees have played eight fixtures at The Hive this season while fellow tenants Tottenham Hotspur have played nine games at the venue. With Barnet FC also playing their fixtures at The Hive, the pitch has become prone to waterlogging since the turn of the year. The situation has not been helped by the horrendous weather conditions which hit the UK in February.
