Liverpool have today announced via their official website that highly-rated forward Rinsola Babajide has signed a new contract at the club.
Babajide joins Niamh Fahey and Rhiannon Roberts in committing their immediate futures to The Reds’ push for promotion back to the Barclays FA Women’s Super League next season.
The striker joined Liverpool back in 2018 following an impressive season at Watford in which she scored three goals in 15 appearances. Babajide has gone on to make 43 appearances for the Merseyside club scoring 15 goals along the way. The 21-year-old is gifted with blistering pace and can outrun the fastest of defenders which is a real asset for Liverpool and their bid for much-needed success.
Babajide is versatile and can play in any position along the attacking line which has helped earn her a position in the England Under-21s side. The youngster biggest claim to fame came when she scored an astounding 14 goals for the University of East London in a 40-0 win over the University College London in 2016.
Liverpool are delighted to have been able to retain one of their top goalscorers for the battle next season. Babajide has called upon the club’s fans to offer their support and to remain committed to the team as they fight for promotion back into the Barclays FA Women’s Super League in 2020/2021.
