Arsenal legend Danielle Carter is leaving the North Londoners after 11 years at Meadow Park according to reports on the club’s official website.
The England international forward leaves The Gunners with 184 appearances to her name and 60 goals.
Unfortunately, the striker’s last couple of years with Arsenal have been hampered by injuries with two Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) setbacks. Despite this, Carter moves on with a superb record of honours to her name including five FA Women’s Continental League Cup successes, four Women’s FA Cup final victories and three FA Women’s Super League titles. In her number nine shirt, she has played an integral role in Arsenal’s successes, playing her part in many historic moments including scoring in the 2016 Women’s FA Cup final against Chelsea. The 27-year-old’s departure signals the end of an era for The Gunners. Carter joined Arsenal in 2009 from Leyton Orient’s Centre of Excellence before becoming the longest serving player at the club.
On the international stage, Carter has featured for the England senior side on four occasions scoring six goals. The striker’s injuries have robbed her of any real chance to mark her place in the team.
The forward expressed her heartache at having to leave the club. On her Twitter account she issued a post which said ”Arsenal till i die…..today i feel like a massive part of me has died.”

Arsenal boss Joe Montemurro told official club media sources “Danielle has been an amazing professional and character through very difficult times over the past couple of years. She has achieved many accolades as both a footballer and person and I’m sure there are many more to come. We want to wish her all the best for the future.”
The player will be hoping to have finally seen off her injury woes when she joins her next club.
