West Ham United have today confirmed via their official website that five members of their 2019/2020 have agreed contract extensions with the club.
Captain Gilly Flaherty, midfielder Cho So-hyun and forwards Adriana Leon and Alisha Lehmann have all agreed to remain with The Hammers until summer 2022 while there is also a one-year contract extension for French midfielder Kenza Dali.
Centre-back Flaherty is the rock in the West Ham United side with the team having been very much built around her since her arrival at the club in summer 2018. She appeared in every Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture for The Hammers last season.
South Korean international Cho joined West Ham United 18 months ago and has impressed in England alongside fellow midfield colleague Dali who was also a 2019 arrival at Rush Green.
Swiss striker Lehmann is one of West Ham United’s most highly-rated young players after netting nine Barclays FA Women’s Super League goals in two seasons in East London while Canadian attacker Leon has also impressed after joining The Hammers from National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) club Seattle Reign in 2019.
The quintet will lead West Ham United into what will be their third season in the top flight this year with Matt Beard’s side looking to improve on last season’s finish of eighth place.
