Experienced attacking midfielder Beth Hepple has signed a new contract with Durham ahead of the new FA Women’s Championship season.

Hepple has gone on to star for The Wildcats in the second tier in recent seasons after initially beginning her journey with Cestria Girls.

With Durham set to mount a renewed promotion challenge again this season, The Wildcats have this evening announced on their official website that Hepple will be part of it with the player having agreed a contract extension with the club.

The attacking midfielder has made 145 appearances for Durham in all competitions throughout her time at New Ferens Park while she has contributed 56 goals. Last season saw Hepple net seven goals from her midfield position in just 12 FA Women’s Championship appearances before the competition was cut short as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic. Had the season have continued, the player would have been likely to have beaten her previous season’s league goal tally of eight.

After signing her new deal, Hepple told Durham’s official media sources “I’m super excited to be staying at Durham for the new season.

“With this group of girls, we can really kick on this season – and I can’t wait to see all our fans again.”

Hepple is Durham’s record appearance holder while she is also the club’s top goalscorer of all time. The player is now set to build on those records in what will be her eighth campaign at New Ferens Park.
