Coventry United manager Jay Bradford has added another former Aston Villa player to her side’s ranks with the signing of full-back Ashlee Brown.
The Warwickshire club had already acquired the services of Alice Hassall and Phoebe Warner after they were released by Villa earlier this summer and the pair have been joined at the Butts Park Arena by former teammate Brown.
The defender was released by Villa at the end of the 2018/2019 campaign with manager Gemma Davies looking to bring in new faces to help shape to club’s promotion push, a challenge for Barclays FA Women’s Super League football which was later successful.
Second tier club Coventry United have today revealed that Brown has joined them for the coming season with the news being broadcast on their official Twitter account.

Brown made 20 appearances in total for Davies’ side in the second tier with 10 of those outings being starts. She helped the club avoid relegation in 2017/2018 before being a member of the side which finished in mid-table one year later. The player was a Women’s FA Cup quarter-finalist during her time with Villa.
The 23-year-old started her career on the blue side of the city. Brown was named amongst the Birmingham City substitutes on a number of occasions after breaking into the first team but stepped down a level to aid her chances of regular football at senior level. She now represents her third Midlands club in Coventry United.
