Coventry United have agreed first team contracts for the 2020/2021 campaign with youngsters Jodie Whiteman, Alanah Mann and Holly Chandler.
The trio all starred for the Warwickshire club’s development team last season and first team boss Jay Bradford has offered the youngsters the opportunity to be part of the senior squad this term.
Whiteman is a goalkeeper who will battle with first choice keeper Sue Wood for the number one jersey at the Butts Park Arena. The player was instrumental as Coventry United’s development team won the plate last season. Experienced stopper Wood will act as an excellent mentor to help the youngster learn her trade.
The second Coventry United youngster to sign senior terms is central defender Mann. The player was often fielded in-front of goalkeeper Whiteman in the club’s successful development team last season and the time has now come for her to push for a first team place.
The third highly-rated member of the development team to earn a first team chance is full-back Chandler. Like Mann, she will now push for a place in the Coventry United starting XI as the club look to address their defensive issues from last season.
The club announced all three deals via their official Twitter account earlier today. Manager Bradford now has 17 players contracted to Coventry United for the coming season.
