Coventry United attacker Amy Wathan has signed a new contract with the club, keeping her at the Butts Park Arena for the coming season.
The 26-year-old Welsh forward missed most of the 2019/2020 campaign through injury but she will be hoping to make an impact in the coming season now that she has returned to full fitness.
Wathan made three appearances for Coventry United in last season’s FA Women’s Championship. She featured in the goalless draw with Crystal Palace at Hayes Lane on the opening day of the season but made just two further appearances with her game time severely restricted by injury.
Coventry United have today revealed via their official Twitter account that Wathan has signed a new contract with the club ahead of the new season.

Wathan has spent much of her career in the South West and Wales before moving to Coventry United in summer 2018. She represented Bristol City, Yeovil Town and Cardiff City prior to her move to Warwickshire. Wathan helped Coventry United to promotion to the second tier in 2018/2019.
Coventry United have now agreed contract extensions with 12 members of last season’s squad while three development players have also signed first team deals. Five new arrivals have increased the total squad number to 20 with manager Jay Bradford having now completed much of her recruitment.
