Reading manager Kelly Chambers has added experienced South Korean international forward Jeon Ga-eul to her squad for the upcoming season according to reports on The Royals’ official website.
The 31-year-old forward, who has more than a century of senior international appearances to her name, joins the Berkshire club following a recent spell with Bristol City.
Jeon managed to make just two appearances for former club Bristol City in the top flight prior to the 2019/2020 season being brought to a premature end due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The player only joined The Robins in mid-January following a spell playing in her native South Korea with Hwacheon KSPO.
The forward started her career in her homeland with Suwon FMC. Jeon then enjoyed two spells with Hyundai Steel Red Angels either side of a stint at Western New York Flash. The player temporarily moved over to Australia where she turned out for Melbourne Victory before returning home to Hwacheon KSPO.
Jeon becomes Reading boss Kelly Chambers’ sixth signing of the summer so far. She joins Emma Mitchell, Danielle Carter, Deanna Cooper, Erin Nayler and Jess Fishlock at The Madejski Stadium.
Reading begin their 2020/2021 Barclays FA Women’s Super League campaign against Arsenal at Meadow Park on Sunday.
