Everton have today revealed that their quarter-final tie against Chelsea in the Vitality Women’s FA Cup will be staged at their traditional home of Goodison Park.

The Blue Girls were set to take on Emma Hayes’ side back in March but the competition was suspended as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.

The 2019/2020 tournament has been pencilled in for a return next weekend with Everton’s meeting with Chelsea being ‘The Tie of the Round’ given both clubs’ investment in their respective squads over the summer.

With the tie being just nine days away, Everton have today confirmed that they will stage the match at Goodison Park rather than down the road at Walton Hall Park. The match will kick-off at 1pm on Sunday 27 September and will be played Behind-closed-doors.

Everton moved to a new purpose-built stadium at Walton Hall Park, home of Liverpool FA in February. Last weekend’s 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur saw Willie Kirk’s side stage a competitive fixture at their new home for just the second time.

The club’s decision to move their upcoming Vitality Women’s FA Cup quarter-final tie to Goodison Park will allow for greater media coverage of the game while playing at the famous old ground should create an historic occasion for the players.

Everton were due to face Merseyside rivals Liverpool at Goodison Park in February but the match was postponed a little over three hours before kick-off on safety grounds as a result of high winds battering the UK.
