Teenage Leicester City defender Grace Riglar has joined FA Women’s National League North club West Bromwich Albion on loan.

The 19-year-old joined Leicester City in summer 2019 but has found first team opportunities hard to come by at Farley Way.

Riglar spent seven years in the academy system at Barclays FA Women’s Super League club Bristol City prior to her move to Farley Way and she was a captain for The Young Robins. The youngster was named on the bench for the Bristol City senior side but never made a first team appearance for the club.

Latest club Leicester City most-recently named Riglar on the bench for their 2-2 draw with promotion rivals Sheffield United at The Technique Stadium in the FA Women’s Championship. Given the increased level of competition at the club this season, the teenager is far from assured a regular first team shirt for The Vixens.

With Riglar in need of regular first team football, third tier side West Bromwich Albion have today confirmed via their official club Twitter account that they have come to an agreement with Leicester City to loan the player. Riglar could make her debut for The Baggies this evening when they make the short trip to Loughborough Foxes.

West Bromwich Albion have picked up four points from their opening two matches of the season in the FA Women’s National League North. They most recently won 5-0 at Sheffield FC last weekend.
