Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Chloe Peplow has undergone surgery on a fracture to her right foot according to reports on the club’s official website.

The 21-year-old Redditch-born midfielder sustained her injury in the second half of Spurs’ 4-0 Vitality Women’s FA Cup defeat at neighbours Arsenal last month.

It has today been reported that Peplow has had surgery on her injury and she will now spend the next six to eight weeks recovering. The midfielder is expected to return to training ahead of the Christmas break.

Prior to the Arsenal fixture, Peplow had featured in just nine minutes of Spurs’ opening two fixtures in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League this season. The player was introduced from the bench in the second half of Spurs’ 1-0 defeat to Everton at Walton Hall Park last month.

Peplow was regularly used by joint-head coaches Karen Hills and Juan Amoros last season. The midfielder featured in 12 of Spurs’ 15 matches in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League in what was their first season in the top flight.

After starting her career at Birmingham City, Peplow spent two years with Brighton & Hove Albion who she helped transition from the second tier to the top flight. She joined current club Spurs in summer 2019.
