Arsenal could be without up to seven first team players for their North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur at Meadow Park on Sunday.

Joe Montemurro’s squad has been heavily hit by injuries in recent weeks and there are few signs of things getting any better ahead of The Gunners’ next fixture this weekend.

Arsenal have today provided an update on their injury situation via their official club website. The good news is that midfielder Kim Little will resume training later this week following a hamstring injury, although she is unlikely to be fit to feature against Spurs.

Teammates Jill Roord, Jordan Nobbs, Lisa Evans and Steph Catley won’t return to the training pitch until after the international break while Fran Stenson and Noelle Maritz are currently being assessed by the Arsenal medical team.

Despite some bad luck with injuries, Arsenal are yet to really be affected by the multiple absences. The Gunners have won all four of their opening matches in this season’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League while they have netted 23 goals, almost double the goal tallies of second-placed Everton and third-placed Chelsea.

Arsenal faced North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur last month in the 2019/2020 Vitality Women’s FA Cup quarter-finals. Montemurro’s side eventually recorded a 4-0 victory over Spurs.
