Chelsea have this afternoon confirmed via their official club website that their upcoming FA Women’s Continental League Cup group match against Tottenham Hotspur will be made available for fans to watch live.
The Blues’ opening match against Arsenal earlier this month was not broadcast, leaving many fans bitterly disappointed. With all matches currently being played behind-closed-doors, fans of the women’s game as a whole criticised the lack of coverage of the first round of FA Women’s Continental League Cup group matches with highlights of several games not being made available on the FA Player until almost 24 hours after they had been played.
Chelsea have responded positively to feedback which the club have received from fans and they have revealed that their second group fixture against Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday 3 November will be available for live streaming. Blues fans can watch the game live on the club’s 5th Stand app, their official club website, the Chelsea FC Women’s Facebook page and via the club’s official YouTube channel.
Emma Hayes’ side got their FA Women’s Continental League Cup trophy defence off to the perfect start with a 4-1 victory over Arsenal at Kingsmeadow. Magda Eriksson, Guro Reiten (brace) and Beth England were all on target for Chelsea in what was an emphatic win.
Victory over Tottenham Hotspur in their next competition fixture should virtually seal Chelsea’s place in the quarter-finals with second tier side London City Lionesses left to play.
