Lewes and Liverpool meet in the FA Women’s Championship for the very first time this afternoon as the two sides go head-to-head at The Dripping Pan.

The Rookettes are in their best-ever second tier form while visitors Liverpool will be hoping to take advantage of league leaders Durham’s week off to edge up the table.

Lewes go into the match on the back of four consecutive clean sheets. Simon Parker’s side are currently the most-difficult team to break down in the division while they have the joint-best defensive record so far.

Where The Rookettes will want to improve is in the final third. They are the lowest scorers in the league with just three goals in five matches, however, all of those goals have been scored in 1-0 wins.

Liverpool make the long trip south after losing 2-1 at promotion rivals Leicester City last time out. That result has left Vicky Jepson’s side in fourth place, a point adrift of Sheffield United and Leicester City and four behind Durham. The Reds have won both of their other two away fixtures so far this season.

Lewes’ fixture against Liverpool in the FA Women’s Championship is scheduled to kick-off at midday and will be available to stream live on the FA Player.
