The North London derby is on the agenda once again this evening with Arsenal playing host to Tottenham Hotspur in the group stage of the FA Women’s Continental League Cup.

Both sides go into their third group match with three points on the board. With group leaders Chelsea boasting maximum points from their two games, a victory is essential for both Arsenal and Spurs if either side is to make the quarter-finals.

Arsenal go into the match on the back of a 1-1 draw with Chelsea in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League at the weekend. With the likes of Kim Little and Jill Roord having both recently returned from injury, head coach Joe Montemurro could opt to make some adjustments to his side, potentially dropping either or both of those players to the bench. Dutch international Danielle van de Donk will be hoping for a return to the starting XI as will Malin Gut. Lydia Williams could be fielded in goal instead of Manuela Zinsberger.

The Gunners are expected to be without Jen Beattie, Noelle Maritz, Steph Catley and Jordan Nobbs who remain sidelined while Viktoria Schnaderbeck is also doubtful.

Tottenham Hotspur arrive at Meadow Park looking to collect their first positive result in a North London derby. Forward Rianna Dean is facing a suspension following her dismissal at Bristol City on Saturday evening. Spurs threw away their lead late on in that match and joint-head coaches Karen Hills and Juan Amoros could opt to make changes to their side this evening. Gemma Davison, Lucy Quinn and Rosella Ayane are the players who are most likely to be considered for recalls.

The Spurs will be without long-term absentees Aurora Mikalsen and Chloe Peplow. Anna Filbey, Kerys Harrop, Kit Graham and Rachel Williams are also likely to be missing.

Arsenal’s FA Women’s Continental League Cup meeting with Tottenham Hotspur kicks-off at 7.30pm this evening with highlights to be made available on the FA Player tomorrow.
