Bristol City have received a boost with winger Megan Wynne having resumed light training today as she steps up her rehabilitation from an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury.

The 27-year-old Welwyn Garden City-born midfielder is yet to pull on a red and white shirt this season with the player having been floored by an ACL injury sustained during The Robins’ pre-season programme.

Wynne today posted an update on her personal Twitter account which showed her running on the training pitch just 14 weeks after she went under the surgeon’s knife.

The midfielder will need a few weeks to rebuild her fitness before beginning ball and physical work and resuming full training therefore Bristol City fans should not expect to see Wynne take to the field until 2021. The good news is that the player is on the comeback trail and her 2020/2021 campaign is seemingly not over.

Following a successful loan spell with Bristol City during the second half of last season, the Welsh international re-joined The Robins on a permanent basis in the summer after leaving former club Tottenham Hotspur. Wynne is yet to make her full debut for The Robins in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League. The player was a used substitute by manager Tanya Oxtoby in three of her side’s league games last season.
