Sheffield United midfielder Olivia Chance has joined Australia side Brisbane Roar according to reports on The Blades’ official website.

The 27-year-old New Zealand international joined the South Yorkshire club on a short-term contact in September but it has today been revealed that the player will be playing her football in the Australian W-League in the coming months with The Roar.

Chance made three appearances for Sheffield United in her short time with the club. The midfielder featured for Neil Redfearn’s side in large home victories over capital pair London Bees and Crystal Palace in the FA Women’s Championship while she also started for The Blades in their 1-0 FA Women’s Continental League Cup defeat to Aston Villa at The Banks’s Stadium in early October.

The Kiwi’s move to the W-League brings the curtain down on a three-year spell playing her football in England. In 2017, Chance joined Everton where she spent two years prior to a spell with Bristol City last season. The midfielder opted to join Sheffield United on a free transfer three months ago but it is understood that Chance was always keen to move closer to home should she get the opportunity to do so.

She leaves a Sheffield United side who are currently just one point from the summit in the FA Women’s Championship.
