Arsenal goalkeeper Manuela Zinsberger added another clean sheet to her tally as Austria defeated Serbia 1-0 at the Cashpoint-Arena in Altach this evening in their final UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 qualifying match.

The 25-year-old Stockerau-born stopper played the full 90 minutes for Irene Fuhrmann’s side as they added three more points to their tally.

The Arsenal keeper has featured in all eight of Austria’s qualifying matches. She has helped her country record seven clean sheets with only group winners France finding a route to the Austrian net, Les Bleues beating Fuhrmann’s side 3-0 in Guingamp on Friday.

Austria’s fixture against Serbia this evening was a game of fine margins, the only goal came 10 minutes from time when home forward Nicole Billa found the back of the net.

Fuhrmann’s side were already assured of a runners-up spot going into their final group match and the play-offs now look to be the most likely course for the conclusion of the nation’s UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 hopes.

Austria qualified for their very first major tournament in 2017 when they competed in the UEFA Women’s EURO in The Netherlands. The nation were one of the tournament’s biggest success stories after reaching the semi-finals against all odds. Austria may get an opportunity to do it all again but must wait a little longer to learn of their play-off fate.
