Manchester United will be hoping to continue their reign at the top of the Barclays FA Women’s Super League table when they travel to Aston Villa on Saturday.

Casey Stoney’s side are currently one point clear of second-placed club Arsenal and are one of just two unbeaten sides in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League.

Excluding their 1-0 Second City derby defeat to Birmingham City, Aston Villa’s results have been improving of late and they will be keen to record their first points at their new Banks’s Stadium home this weekend. Gemma Davies’ side have conceded just two goals in their last four matches in all competitions, although they have found the back of the net just once in 180 minutes of football at the other end of the pitch.

Villa boss Davies is not thought to have any new injury concerns to contend with, although she may check on the fitness of Chloe Arthur and Diana Silva with both players having been away with their respective national teams.

Manchester United arrive in The Midlands following a couple of really positive results in back-to-back Manchester derbies. Stoney’s side will undoubtedly take huge confidence from those results as they continue to break up what was previously referred to as the ‘top three’.

Scotland international Kirsty Hanson is nursing a calf injury and is doubtful for United but otherwise, manager Stoney is not thought to have any new injury concerns to contend with.

Aston Villa’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture against Manchester United at The Banks’s Stadium kicks-off at 12.30pm on Saturday lunchtime and will be available to stream live on the FA Player. Fans are reminded that the match will be played behind-closed-doors.
