Arsenal will be without Viktoria Schnaderbeck, Lia Walti and Noelle Maritz as they take on Birmingham City at Meadow Park this weekend.

The Gunners have been made to cope with a lengthy injury list in recent weeks and while some of those sidelined players are now back to full fitness, Schnaderbeck, Walti and Maritz will be unavailable.

The club provided an update of their injury situation via their official website yesterday. Austrian captain Schnaderbeck is currently recovering from a knee injury sustained early last month while Swiss international Maritz picked up a similar injury prior to the international break. She is further behind in her rehabilitation than teammate Schnaderbeck. Midfielder Walti has added her name to the list of absentees after suffering a head injury in Switzerland’s 4-0 defeat to Belgium in Leuven in midweek.

The good news for Arsenal is that the Barclays FA Women’s Super League’s all-time top scorer Vivianne Miedema is likely to feature against Birmingham City. The player pulled out of the Dutch squad with a hip injury sustained before the international break but is thought to be back to full fitness.

Arsenal go into Sunday’s fixture hoping to return to winning ways in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League. One point collected from their last two matches has resulted in The Gunners surrendering top spot in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League and the club will be keen to return to the summit before Christmas.
