Arsenal will be hoping to return to winning ways in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League when they take on Birmingham City at Meadow Park on Sunday.

The Gunners have taken just one point from their last two league matches, slipping off the top of the Barclays FA Women’s Super League table.

Arsenal head coach Joe Montemurro is beginning to see his side’s injury list clear up. Montemurro should have defender Steph Catley, midfielder Jordan Nobbs and forward Lisa Evans available to him following their recent absences through injury. Forward Vivianne Miedema has overcome a hip problem and should start in Boreham Wood.

The North Londoners will be without Viktoria Schnaderbeck, Noelle Maritz (both knee injuries) and Lia Walti (concussion).

Birmingham City travel to Arsenal on the back of four consecutive away victories in all competitions. Carla Ward’s side have kept four clean sheets during that sequence.

The Blues boss could only name 13 players in her matchday squad for the Second City derby at Aston Villa last time out but it is hoped that the injury list may have reduced ahead of this weekend’s fixture.

Goalkeeper Hannah Hampton recently withdrew from international duty with England with a knock and it has not been confirmed whether the player has returned to fitness in time for the Arsenal fixture. Midfielder Lily Simkin has recently returned to training following a long injury lay-off but the fixture at Meadow Park will come too early for her.

Arsenal’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture against Birmingham City is scheduled to kick-off at 2pm on Sunday afternoon and will be available for fans to stream live on the FA Player. Around 900 home fans will have obtained tickets to attend the match until the Government’s Tier 2 guidelines.
