Fresh off the back of Tottenham Hotspur confirming that Alanna Kennedy’s loan move at The Hive has been upgraded to permanent deal, Shelina Zadorsky has followed suit by extending her stay with The Lilywhites as reported on the club’s official website.

The Canadian international defender has penned a deal that will keep her in North London until the end of the 2020/2021 season. Zadorsky joined Spurs on a temporary contract in August, arriving from National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) outfit Orlando Pride and she has gone on to make 11 appearances for the club so far this campaign.

Upon signing her permanent deal with Spurs, Zadorsky told the club’s official media channels “It was an easy decision to make.

“I’m really looking forward to the rest of the season, we have so much potential as a team and I am excited to be part of the journey.

“As a group, moving up the table and giving our fans something to be proud of are our main goals.

“Personally, I also want to ensure we build a solid defence and keep more clean sheets. It’s a new chapter for the Club, our confidence is high and our aim is to push on from here.”

Up next for Tottenham Hotspur is a mid-table clash with Birmingham City who have found a new lease of life under head coach Carla Ward. The match is both sides’ first fixture since returning from the winter break so the two teams will be looking to get the New Year off to a good start. Rehanne Skinner’s side will have to cope without United States star Alex Morgan who called time of her short spell in the capital last month and returned to America.

The confirmation of Kennedy and Zadorsky extending their respective stays will be welcome news to Spurs fans and one would imagine that there will be more arrivals as new head coach Skinner looks to implement her own identity on the squad, whilst also replacing a figure as influential as Morgan.
