FA Women’s Championship club London Bees have completed the signing of highly-rated Reading midfielder Sophie Quirk on a loan deal until the end of the season according to reports on The Bees’ official club website.
The 18-year-old is a graduate of the Reading academy system and is held in very high regard by The Royals boss Kelly Chambers.
Quirk has already made the bench for the senior team but is yet to make her debut for Reading. With the player in need of some first team experience, The Royals have today agreed to loan the youngster to second tier club London Bees. Quirk could be part of The Bees boss Lee Burch’s side when the club travel to Merseyside to face Liverpool this weekend.
The midfielder is an England youth international with Quirk having represented The Young Lionesses up to and including Under-17 level to date and she is expected to collect further honours for her country in the coming years.
Quirk’s loan club London Bees will be looking to build some momentum in early 2021 off the back of a difficult December. The club looked set for three points against Coventry United in their last match of 2020 only to be denied by a last-gasp equaliser which left them in relegation trouble.
