Two clubs with lofty ambitions meet at Princes Park this afternoon as London City Lionesses take on local rivals Crystal Palace in the FA Women’s Championship.
The hosts started to find some solid form prior to the Christmas break while visitors Palace have improved massively this season, although there is undoubtedly much more to come from Dean Davenport’s side in the coming months.
London City Lionesses go into this afternoon’s fixture on the back of three consecutive home victories in the FA Women’s Championship while they drew 0-0 at Sheffield United last time out. Head coach Melissa Phillips is not thought to have any fresh injury concerns to contend with ahead of her side’s latest London derby.
Crystal Palace boss Davenport could hand a debut to on-loan Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Kirsty Barton in Dartford. Palace have shown lots of potential so far this season and have played some really exciting attacking football. The Eagles will be looking to turn that potential into both points and more consistency in the second half of the campaign.
London City Lionesses’ FA Women’s Championship fixture against Crystal Palace is scheduled to kick-off at 2pm and will be available for fans to watch live on the FA Player.
