PREVIEW: Crystal Palace v Leicester City

FA Women’s Championship pair Crystal Palace and Leicester City will be hoping to secure a place in the semi-finals of this season’s FA Women’s Continental League Cup when they contest their quarter-final tie at Hayes Lane tomorrow night.

Both sides performed well in the group stage against both first and second tier opposition and thoroughly deserve their respective places in the last eight of the competition.

Crystal Palace go into the tie on the back of a goalless draw with London City Lionesses on Sunday, a result which saw The Eagles keep their first league clean sheet in 16 months. Manager Dean Davenport has indicated that changes will be made to his starting XI with there being a couple of injuries in the squad. Amber Stobbs is suspended following her dismissal at Princes Park on Sunday while on-loan Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Kirsty Barton is cup-tied.

Leicester City travel to Bromley having increased their lead at the top of the FA Women’s Championship table last weekend with a 2-1 victory over Sheffield United at Farley Way. The Foxes continue to be without long-term absentee Demi Lambourne, however, manager Jonathan Morgan is not thought to have any other major injury concerns to contend with.

Crystal Palace’s FA Women’s Continental League Cup quarter-final tie against Leicester City is scheduled to kick-off at 8pm tomorrow night with the match available for fans to stream live on the FA Player.
