Birmingham City have announced their second signing of the day in the form of well travelled Leicester City forward Ruesha Littlejohn.
The 30-year-old Republic of Ireland international striker announced her departure from Leicester City this afternoon and her move to Birmingham City has now been revealed on the Blues’ official club website.
Littlejohn follows Chelsea forward Emily Murphy to the SportNation.bet Stadium with the teenager having signed a loan deal with Birmingham City until the end of the season this morning. Blues head coach Carla Ward has now added three attacking players to her squad during the current transfer window with Sheffield United’s Greek international forward Veatriki Sarri having also joined the club this month.
Latest signing Littlejohn made seven appearances for former club Leicester City, scoring her only goal in November’s 9-1 FA Women’s Championship victory over Coventry United at the Butts Park Arena. The experienced forward has been a dependable option from the bench for The Foxes this season and she will be hoping that the move to Birmingham City will provide her will more game time.
Littlejohn has initially joined Birmingham City until the end of the season and she has been given the number 12 shirt by the club. It has not been confirmed whether the player has been registered in time to be considered for selection for tomorrow’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion.
