Highly-rated Reading midfielder Emma Harries has signed her first professional contract with the club according to reports on The Royals’ official website.
The 18-year-old is a product of the club’s well-respected academy system and is being tipped for a big future in the game.
Harries has completed a decade of service as a Reading player after initially joining the club as an eight-year-old and she has today been rewarded for her progression with the youngster signing her first professional terms with the club.
With Reading boss Kelly Chambers having a relatively small squad this season, she has called upon Harries on a number of occasions. The midfielder made her debut in Reading’s 1-0 victory at West Ham United in early October, coming off the bench to play the final 10 minutes of the match. Since her maiden outing, Harries has made seven further appearances for The Royals in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League while she was a used substitute in all three of the club’s group matches in the FA Women’s Continental League Cup.
The teenager has been used in all three of The Royals’ matches so far in 2021 and Harries will be keen for that trend to continue now that she is officially a professional player on the club’s books.
