PREVIEW: Chelsea v West Ham United

Chelsea and West Ham United will fight it out for a place in the final of this season’s FA Women’s Continental League Cup when the pair contest their semi-final tie at Kingsmeadow on Wednesday evening.

The Blues are the current holders of the trophy and will naturally be the red hot favourites to advance to next month’s final when they take on a West Ham United side who are still finding their feet under new manager Olli Harder.

Chelsea manager Emma Hayes is expected to welcome Jess Carter and Erin Cuthbert back into her matchday squad with the pair having returned to fitness. In her pre-match press conference, The Blues boss confirmed that she has no injury concerns to contend with.

West Ham United suffered a 4-0 loss at Manchester City at the weekend, a game which saw the East Londoners fail to register a single shot on target. Manager Harder could opt to make some changes to his side as he looks to find a winning formula. Kenza Dali and Martha Thomas dropped to the bench for the trip to The Academy Stadium and it seems as though those players are the most likely to be considered for recalls to the starting XI.

The FA Women’s Continental League Cup semi-final tie between Chelsea and West Ham United is scheduled to kick-off at 5pm on Wednesday evening and will be available for fans to stream live on the FA Player.
