Bristol City and Leicester City will be aiming to reach the final of the FA Women’s Continental League Cup for the first time when the pair contest their semi-final tie at Twerton Park this evening.

Just six different clubs have ever reached the final but this year will see at least one new name competing for the silverware at Vicarage Road next month.

Bristol City collected their first Barclays FA Women’s Super League win of the season on Saturday as they defeated Brighton & Hove Albion 3-0 at Twerton Park. Stand-in boss Matt Beard is likely to keep faith with the majority of those players which started that match. On-loan Everton midfielder Molly Pike has already featured for her parent club in this season’s competition and is therefore thought to be cup-tied, although this is to be confirmed.

Leicester City are bidding to become the first second tier side to reach the final. The Foxes have had two weeks off due to either postponements or them not having a scheduled fixture and they should therefore be well-prepared for this evening’s cup clash.

Goalkeeper Demi Lambourne remains sidelined with a long-term injury while January transfer window signing Shannon O’Brien has already represented Coventry United in the competition this season and is therefore thought to be cup-tied. Charlotte Fleming is believed to be able to play in the match after joining Leicester City from Chelsea.

The FA Women’s Continental League Cup semi-final tie between Bristol City and Leicester City is scheduled to kick-off at 7.30pm this evening and will be available for fans to watch live on the FA Player.
