Manchester United forward Ivana Fuso was handed her full debut for Brazil as they defeated Canada 2-0 in their final 2021 SheBelieves Cup match at the Exploria Stadium in Orlando, Florida this evening.
The 19-year-old former German youth international came off the bench to make her first appearance in a Brazil shirt in their opening tournament fixture against Argentina last week and head coach Pia Sundhage again put her faith in the player this evening as Ivana was handed a first start.
Brazil went on to win the match 2-0 thanks to first half goals from forward Debinha and central midfielder Julia Bianchi. Manchester United forward Ivana played the first 67 minutes of the match before being replaced by Giovana Queiroz. Ivana was fielded in a role on the right side of the midfield, playing behind a front three of Marta, Debinha and the deeper Andressa.
The 2021 SheBelieves Cup will go to the United States for a second consecutive year should they record any kind of positive result against competition minnows Argentina in their final tournament fixture at midnight. The Stars and Stripes have won both of their games so far against Canada and Brazil. Victory for Brazil against Canada this evening sees them guaranteed at least second place.
