Manchester United manager Casey Stoney has confirmed the good news that attacking pair Leah Galton and Alessia Russo are set to be included in the squad to take on Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday after overcoming their respective injury problems.
Galton has been out of action for two months since sustaining ankle ligament damage while Russo has faced a long road back to fitness from a hamstring injury which she picked up during the first half of the season.
When speaking to the Manchester United media team ahead of this weekend’s meeting with Spurs at The Leigh Sports Village, Stoney said “We are doing ok. Everybody who was fit for last weekend is fit this week.
“The bonus that we do have is that we now have Leah Galton and Alessia Russo available for the squad so that is a real boost for us.”

United’s hopes of finishing in third position in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League table this season and in-turn, secure qualification to next season’s UEFA Women’s Champions League are fading but victories in their final three matches will give them the best chance possible. The current third-placed side Arsenal are level on points with United but have played a game less than The Red Devils and boast a significantly better goal difference.
