Chelsea will be hoping to put the excitement of qualifying for a first UEFA Women’s Champions League final to one side when The Blues travel to Tottenham Hotspur for a key Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture this evening.

Emma Hayes’ side defeated Bayern Munich 5-3 on aggregate to move to within one step of European football’s greatest prize but they slipped into second place in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League table in the process and must now win both of their remaining games to retain the title.

Spurs go into tonight’s game having lost all of their last three matches in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League. Head coach Rehanne Skinner has remained tight-lipped about player availability, although she has confirmed that some members of her squad are likely to be missing. Defender Ria Percival is thought to be one of those absentees but there could also be a couple of other players missing.

Chelsea travel to The Hive without Norwegian defender Maren Mjelde who has been ruled out of The Blues’ remaining games. Manager Hayes is not thought to have any other injury concerns to contend with. It remains to be seen whether she makes changes to her side following the energy-sapping 4-1 second leg victory over Bayern Munich at Kingsmeadow on Sunday.

Tottenham Hotspur’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture against Chelsea is scheduled to kick-off at 5.30pm this evening and will be available for fans to watch live on BT Sport 1.
