Brighton & Hove Albion defender Victoria Williams has signed a new one-year contract with the club according to reports on The Seagulls’ official website.

The 31-year-old Nottingham-born centre-back has been a consistent performer for Albion this season, helping the club to record a highest-ever finish of sixth place in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League.

With Brighton & Hove Albion looking to kick on further next season, Williams remains a key member of Hope Powell’s squad and the club have today agreed terms with the player on a new deal. The new contract will take Williams into her fourth season with the club.

In her three previous years with The Seagulls, Williams has represented the club on 45 occasions in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League while she has scored two goals. The player has also played an important role in the local community with her work with Albion in the Community (AITC), the official charity of Brighton & Hove Albion football club.

The news of Williams’ contact extension at The People’s Pension Stadium comes just a couple of weeks after goalkeeper Megan Walsh signed on again with the club. Walsh agreed terms on a new two-year contract following a successful season with Albion.
