Lewes have announced the news that defender Sammy Quayle is leaving the club after three years at The Dripping Pan.
The 25-year-old full-back has been with Lewes throughout their second tier era but she is now moving on for a new challenge.
Lewes announced the news via a post on their official club Twitter account yesterday.
Lewes FC can confirm that Sammy Quayle will be leaving the club. Sammy’s fantastic solo charge at goal helped us secure a win at home to Charlton. Sammy joined in the 2018-19 season and we wish her the best for the future. pic.twitter.com/gVj7EW6kuF

During her time at The Dripping Pan, Quayle has represented Lewes on 44 occasions in the FA Women’s Championship while she has scored four goals. Quayle’s only league goal of 2020/2021 came in the 2-1 home victory over Charlton Athletic in December and was a Goal of the Season contender.
Initially starting out as a winger, Quayle began her senior career with Bristol Academy in 2013 before dropping down the pyramid to play for Coventry United. Spells with Yeovil Town and Portsmouth followed before the player joined Lewes.
Quayle featured in every game of Lewes’ debut season in the second tier in 2018/2019 while she has been a regular in the side during the last two seasons. The defender has been one of the most consistent performers for The Rookettes and she will undoubtedly be missed by everyone at the Sussex club.
