New Zealand international midfielder Katie Rood is the latest player to leave Lewes this summer.
Seven players have now left The Dripping Pan with manager Simon Parker sure to be making a number of additions to his side as the close season goes on.
Rood joined Lewes in 2019, initially on a loan deal from Bristol City. Her move to the Sussex club was made permanent that summer. In her time with The Rookettes, Rood has scored six goals in 33 FA Women’s Championship appearances.
Lewes announced the player’s departure via a post on their official club Twitter account this evening. Rood has added her name to the Lewes exit list alongside full-back Sammy Quayle, midfielders Danielle Lane, Filippa Savva, Simran Jhamat and Ellie Leek and forward Emma Jones.
Lewes can announce that Katie Rood is departing the Club.
Roodie has been an integral member of the team and has helped off the pitch, including community outreach initiatives and coaching our Rookie Kickers sessions.

Rood started her career in New Zealand with North Force before moving to Glenfield Rovers. A brief spell with Lincoln Ladies followed before the midfielder spent time in Italy with Juventus. Rood returned to England in 2018 to join Bristol City prior to her move to latest club Lewes.
At this stage, it is unknown whether Rood will remain in England or look to play her football on the continent.
