Sheffield United midfielder Maddy Cusack has signed a new one-year deal with the club.

The 25-year-old has spent the last two-and-a-half years with The Blades since joining the club from their FA Women’s Championship rivals Leicester City. She will now remain with the South Yorkshire side for a further year after penning a new deal.

Sheffield United informed FAWSL Full-Time of Cusack’s contract extension via an official club press release issued earlier this afternoon.

Cusack has featured heavily for Sheffield United throughout her stay with the club. The midfielder has made 42 FA Women’s Championship appearances in red and white, netting one goal. She missed just two of her side’s league fixtures in 2020/2021.

After signing on again at The Technique Stadium, Cusack told Sheffield United’s official media sources “I’m really happy to be signing again for Sheffield United. It’s my fourth season now and I’ve really enjoyed my time here. I’m excited and I’m really looking forward to next season.

“I work for the club with the Community Foundation, I really like Sheffield as a whole and it made
sense to commit my future here as I’ve really enjoyed my time here.”

Cusack’s contract extension comes off the back of the recent news that both Sophie Walton and Charley Docherty have signed deals with Sheffield United for next season.
