Manchester United forward Jess Sigsworth will leave the club at the end of this month when her contract expires according to reports on The Red Devils’ official website.
The 26-year-old Doncaster-born striker leaves The Leigh Sports Village after spending the last three years with the club.
Sigsworth was a promotion winner with Manchester United in 2018/2019. She netted 17 goals for The Red Devils in the FA Women’s Championship, the league’s best goal return, as her side won the title courtesy of a nine-point margin.
In the top flight, Sigsworth has netted five goals in 28 appearances in a Manchester United shirt. All of those goals came on home soil at The Leigh Sports Village.
Sigsworth has enjoyed a decade as a senior player. She started out with hometown club Doncaster Rovers Belles in 2011 before having a brief spell with Notts County. She soon returned to The Belles and helped them to the old FA Women’s Super League 2 title in 2017/2018 with a 15-goal haul.
The forward joined Manchester United for their inaugural campaign in 2018/2019 and she has written her name in the club’s history books during her three years in the North West.
Sigsworth is expected to remain in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League. The player has recently been linked with a move to newly-promoted club Leicester City.
