Coventry United have today announced the news that Northern Irish defender Hayley Crackle has signed a new contract with the club for the 2021/2022 season.

The 26-year-old has spent the last two seasons with The Red and Greens after joining the club from Aston Villa. The player has impressed manager Jay Bradford enough with her performances in the second tier to be offered a new deal.

Coventry United announced Crackle’s contract extension in a post on their official club Twitter account earlier today.

Since joining Coventry United, Crackle has represented the club in the FA Women’s Championship on 27 occasions. Her only goal was a winning goal with the player hitting the back of the net in Coventry United’s 1-0 home win over London City Lionesses in March.

Crackle is one of the most experienced Coventry United players in terms of second tier football exposure and todays announcement is further good news as the club look to assemble a strong squad for the coming season.

Coventry United have now agreed contracts with no less than 10 members of their 2020/2021 squad while manager Bradford has also been able to make the impressive additions of forward Katie Wilkinson and midfielder Charlie Estcourt.
