Durham have agreed contract extensions with three more members of their 2020/2021 squad.

Nine members of The Wildcats squad had already agreed new terms and it has today been revealed that goalkeeper Megan Borthwick and wingers Emily Roberts and Danielle Brown have also signed on the dotted line at Maiden Castle.

Durham announced the news in a series of club press releases issued throughout the day. The club first confirmed the news that goalkeeper Borthwick has signed on for another season. The player has been on The Wildcats’ books for the last five years and is the club’s first choice goalkeeper. Borthwick was an ever-present for Durham in the FA Women’s Championship last season.

Winger Roberts was the second player to sign a new deal. Like Borthwick, the player has also spent five years with Durham. Roberts netted six goals in 16 FA Women’s Championship appearances last season with a couple of her strikes being really memorable. Roberts could make her 100th appearance in all competitions for the club this season.

The final player to agree a new deal was Brown. The winger joined Durham from neighbours Sunderland during the first half of last season and she went on to feature for the club on 10 occasions in the second tier.

Durham finished the 2020/2021 campaign in second place in the FA Women’s Championship table and the flurry of contract renewals bodes well for consistency going into the new season.
