Tottenham Hotspur Women have confirmed that they will take on North London rivals Arsenal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next month.

The game takes place on Sunday 8 August and will form part of ‘The Mind Series’, a pre-season tournament which also includes Chelsea.

The men’s sides will contest a North London Derby at the same venue on the same day. That game will kick-off at 2pm before the women’s North London Derby follows at 4.45pm. Tickets will be sold to season ticket holders and members with the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium set to be packed out close to capacity, allowing an unoccupied area for player social distancing. Proceeds from the game will be donated to the Mind charity and each club’s foundation.

Arsenal have won on both of their previous visits to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The Gunners won 2-0 in the first Barclays FA Women’s Super League North London Derby in November 2019 before they again defeated Spurs last season, Joe Montemurro’s side running out 3-0 winners.

Spurs recorded their first positive against Arsenal in their history when they drew 2-2 with The Gunners at Meadow Park in the group stage of last season’s FA Women’s Continental League Cup. Arsenal claimed the bonus point with a 5-4 victory in the penalty shootout which followed.

Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal still hold the attendance record for a Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture when 38,262 attended that first league North London Derby in November 2019.
