Charlton Athletic forward Jess King has signed professional terms with the club according to reports on The Addicks’ official website.

The 29-year-old Liverpudlian striker netted six goals in 20 FA Women’s Championship appearances for The Addicks last season, a campaign that was her first at The Oakwood.

With the player having made a really positive impression at the club, it has today been confirmed that King has signed professional terms for the new season. She becomes the fifth member of the 2020/2021 squad to go full-time with Charlton Athletic this season. Midfielder Elisha Sulola has also agreed to return to the club on a permanent basis following a successful loan spell last season.

After signing her new contract, King said “I’m excited. I’m really, really happy to be here and to continue on with the club. A lot has changed and I’m excited for the season to come.”

King is set to begin her fourth consecutive campaign in the FA Women’s Championship. Following a period playing her football across Europe in Germany and Norway, the forward joined Lewes for the 2018/2019 season. She spent two years with The Rookettes before completing the move to Charlton Athletic last summer.

The forward was Charlton Athletic’s top scorer last season having scored one goal more than Lois Heuchan.
