Sheffield United defender Ellie Wilson has signed a new contract with the club for the coming season.

The 24-year-old Windsor-born centre-back joined The Blades from London Bees last summer. She made five appearances for the club in the FA Women’s Championship before her season was prematurely ended by an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury.

With Wilson regaining her fitness following her long term injury, it has today been confirmed that the player has signed a new contract with Sheffield United. The Blades announced the news via an official press release.

After signing on again at The Technique Stadium, Wilson said “I’m buzzing to be staying here, honestly. I’m absolutely delighted to be here for another year. I enjoyed my first year, from the minute I came in and I’m looking forward to the new season.

“I’ve been on the grass now, running too which is a good step in what is a long process for me with the injury and with the girls being back in, that’s been a morale boost too, so I’m buzzing at the moment.”

Wilson started her senior career with Reading before enjoying a two-year spell with Bristol City. The player spent a similar time with London Bees before joining latest club Sheffield United. The defender is the twelfth player to sign new terms with the South Yorkshire club this summer.
