Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Liverpool goalkeeper Eleanor Heeps on a three-year deal according to reports on the club’s official website.

The 18-year-old joins the North Londoners after spending five years with The Reds but she has been loaned straight out to FA Women’s Championship club Blackburn Rovers.

Heeps successfully came through the youth ranks at former club Liverpool and she was an unused substitute for the Merseyside club on 14 occasions in the FA Women’s Championship last season. The keeper is yet to make her competitive footballing debut as a senior player.

After completing her move to Tottenham Hotspur, Heeps said “I’m so happy to have signed for Spurs. The Club is ambitious and I’m excited about the plans that Rehanne has here. I am really looking forward to learning as much as I can from both the staff and the players.”

Heeps is the 11th summer signing at Tottenham Hotspur. She is the second young player to leave the club on loan with defender Gracie Pearse having also been sent out to get experience with Crystal Palace. Like Heeps, Pearse completed a move to the North Londoners but was immediately loaned out.

Tottenham Hotspur begin the new season at home to Birmingham City on Saturday 4 September.
