Arsenal will take on Dutch club PSV Eindhoven in their UEFA Women’s Champions League Round 1 final tie at the Sapsan Arena in Moscow on Saturday.

Rick de Rooij’s side saw off Lokomotiv Moscow 3-1 in their Round 1 semi-final tie this evening to set up a fixture against Arsenal this weekend where the winners will advance to the revamped UEFA Women’s Champions League’s Round 2.

Anna Belomyttseva had given Lokomotiv Moscow the lead after just four minutes but PSV quickly responded as they levelled matters through forward Esmee Brugts.

It was after the hour mark before the two sides could be separated again. PSV took the lead for the first time in the match thanks to a Maruschka Waldus goal. The Dutch club made sure of their place in the Round 1 final deep in second half injury time when former Liverpool forward Amalie Thestrup got her name on the scoresheet.

PSV’s reward for their victory is a one-off final tie against Arsenal. The Gunners saw off Kazakhstani club FC Okhetpes 4-0 in their semi-final tie earlier today with Mana Iwabuchi, Kim Little, Beth Mead and Nikita Parris getting the goals for Jonas Eidevall’s side.

The pair will fight it out for the right to play in Round 2 at the Sapsan Arena in Moscow at 5pm on Saturday evening.
