Birmingham City have confirmed that midfielder Connie Scofield has opted to turn down the club’s offer of a new contract and she has now departed.

The 22-year-old Londoner was one of 13 players to be offered new deals by the club at the end of last season but it has been revealed that Scofield will not be staying on at St Andrew’s for another year.

Birmingham City announced the news via a post on the club’s official Twitter account this evening.

Scofield has been with Birmingham City for 13 years after joining the club’s Development Centre at the age of nine. The midfielder was first seen in the senior squad during the 2015 FA Women’s Super League 1 campaign and she made her debut for the Blues the following season.

Since breaking into the Birmingham City side, Scofield has made 29 appearances for the club in the top flight while she netted her only league goal in a 2-0 win at Liverpool towards the end of 2018.

Scofield is thought to have been on the radar of another Barclays FA Women’s Super League club therefore it is very possible that the player will remain at the top level of the English game for the coming season.
